Potomac River Rafting
White Water Rafting on the Potomac River in West Virginia
The North Branch of the Potomac River is an excellent day of class 1 - 3 Whitewater depending on the dam release from Jennings Randolph reservoir. Great for the whole family!! Whitewater releases from Jennings Randolph Lake tumble down a continuous gradient of sandstone ledges and cobbles providing nonstop action of easy rapids with waves and rollers.
Short pools of calm water permit sight seeing and swimming. The North Branch is in the south eastern end of Garrett county so we meet at the Take-Out in Bloomington, MD at 9:00 am. The trip is guided thru 7 miles of continuous easy rapids with an occasional moving water pool.
The North Branch can be run spring thru fall with the low water float trips in the summer. It is a great trip for the first timer as well as the seasoned pro.
