The Kern River, in Southern California, is home to outstanding whitewater rafting trips on the Lower Kern, The Upper Kern and the Forks of The Kern. Each section offers exciting rafting trips, ranging from Class III- V, which are available as half-day, full-day and overnight trips.

The Lower Kern, runnable from May to September, is an outstanding one day trip with numerous Class III and IV rapids. Running through a deep canyon, the Lower Kern is an exciting rafting trip with outstanding scenery.

The Upper Kern is an exciting spring rafting trip that offers some of the biggest raftable drops in the state of California. The Forks of The Kern is a true wilderness multi-day rafting adventure. Located within a remote, difficult to access canyon, the Forks of the Kern offers over 20 miles of Class V rafting. Previous experience is recommended for Upper Kern and Forks of The Kern rafting

In 1978, a couple of school teachers in the Sacramento, California area, produced an idea for creating a rafting program for at-risk high school students. The first few trips proved so successful that the two partners opened their doors to the general, local population. From that day, W.E.T. River Trips was born.
