Gauley River Rafting in West Virginia

Raft the World-Famous Gauley River

The Gauley River in West Virginia is known across the globe for it's numerous big rapids. Divided into two sections, it contains well over 100 Class III and higher rapids, including four Class V+, in it's 26 mile stretch.

The Upper Gauley is rated one of the top 10 commercial rafting trips in the world for good reason. Starting below the largest earthen dam in the world, the Upper Gauley is a boulder strewn, big-water rafting gem. The Middle Gauley - Lower Gauley is the under appreciated little brother of the Upper Gauley and is an exciting roller-coaster stretch of whitewater. The Gauley River runs at optimum flows during Gauley Season, 22 days of scheduled releases that begin the first Friday after Labor Day.
