The New River Gorge National River, which was created in 1978, is the Grand Canyon of the East.  This thousand foot deep deciduous forest canyon was protected for its beauty, culture and history and the best whitewater rafting in the east.

Family River Rafting Trips
The upper sections of the gorge is perfect for families, with children as young as 6 years thanks to the warm water, long pools and gentle rapids.  Using our two-person inflatable kayak (duckies) allows the older members a more challenging trip while the younger or older members ride in our rafts. This is a great place to start you vacation.

Lower New Sunset Trips
For those who would like to drive in the morning of the trip, eat lunch at Chetty's Pub, raft the Lower New in the afternoon and enjoy a delicious dinner on the canyon rim as you watch the sunset, this is the trip for you.

The Gauley is known as one of the top 10 rivers in the world. If you liked the New River, the Lower Gauley is the next logical trip to take, with rapids similar in size, but a little closer together.  After the Lower Gauley, the Upper Gauley or our two-day Fall Gauley Overnight is a must.

Gauley River, located thirty minutes north of the New River, flows year round and offers a true wilderness experience.  Depending on the flows the day of the trip, Class VI will choose the best section and the highest adventure water craft.
